800 homes to benefit from EU-funded solar project in C’River

No fewer than 800 homes in the Etomi community of Etung Local Government Area of Cross River are set to benefit from an EU-funded mini-grid solar power project.

The state’s Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, Mr Eka Williams, stated this during a site visit to assess the progress of the project in the community on Saturday.

He said the 196 Kilowatt-hour -100H inverter, named Jinko power house mini-grid solar farm has 119 Kilo Watts capacity.

Williams said that the solar farm was designed to provide electricity to the community.

According to him, the project is now fully operational and ready to power the Etomi community.

“I am pleased to announce that the solar farm is now fully operational and ready to power the Etomi community.

“All stages of the project have been successfully completed.
